Recap

Salem swimming is back!  November 8th was the first meet with six schools attending.  Salem girls came in 3rd place, beating out Westchester Country Day School, Burlington Christian Academy and Calvary Day School. The team is off to a good start.  Helen Watson, a young new swimmer came out with a bang by improving her backstroke by 7.32 seconds in the lead off leg of the 200 Medley Relay.  The 100 Free was a hit with three returning swimmers shaving major time. Makenna Hartwich shaved 6.63, Abigail Wucherer shaved 3.52 and Sara Huang shaved 2.13 off of their times.  Way to go ladies!

Caitlin Kinnamon shaved 17.07 seconds in the 500 Free. Wow!  Watch out for Caitlin! In the 200 Free relay, the lead off freshman, Emma Grimstead made Salem’s first state cut in her 50 free swim.  Congratulations Emma!  Michaela Murphy continues to shave time in her 50, losing 0.30 more seconds on Thursday.  The 50 Free swim is the hardest event to shave time.  Caitlin Kinnamon shaved 1.84 seconds in the 100 Breast.  The team just keeps getting better.

Come on out and support the team for their next meet at home on Thursday, November 15 at 4:30 pm.  Go Salem!
