Track at American Hebrew Academy
The Sabers completed their third track meet at American Hebrew Academy on Thursday, March 17. The team is shaping up to have a really excellent sprint team this year and many girls continue to improve their efforts at each meet. Kadie Hicks is developing her skills in the 100 meter hurdle race and cut her time down by two seconds. Toria Davenport is also beginning to excel in the same race. Uche Okoh is continuing to impress with her throwing skills and threw 66’ in the discus. Many of Salem’s first year runners are still experimenting with new races and have shown great courage in trying new events as well as great success. Praise Idika won her 100 and 200 meter races while Favor Idika fought for an impressive second place in the 400 meter behind a senior bound for a collegiate track program. Favor also added another foot to her triple jump PR. Perhaps most notably, the Sabers had some great performances of leadership and excellent example setting by their juniors Katy Callewart and Alexis Hubbard who entered new events and completed them with great success and a smile. This team is really growing together and showing fabulous sportsmanship and support for one another.
