Congratulations to all of you!

 

To our wonderful and accomplished seniors on their graduation from high school. We wish you well on your life’s journey!

 

To all of the parents, guardians, and grandparents for the love and support you have given these young women through their lives.

 

To all of our juniors, sophomores, and freshmen for the completion of another year in their educational journey.

Graduation Events

Friday, May 25

Recognition Assembly      Hanes Auditorium - 4:30 p.m. - required for all students.  All parents are encouraged to attend.

Head of School Dinner   Bryant Hall – 6:00 p.m. – this is for seniors and their families.  There’s no charge for the first 5 guests ($15/person after that) Reservations requested – call Ms. Rogers at 336.721.2776 to RSVP.

Art Show Reception         Fine Arts Center - 7:00 p.m.

Glee Club Spring Concert Fine Arts Center, Hanes Auditorium - 8:00 p.m. Open to public.

Senior Fest                        The Commons - 10:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m..  A dance and celebration for all students, families, friends, faculty and staff.

 

Saturday, May 26

Graduation                       May Dell, 10:00 a.m. Required for all student (Hanes auditorium, Fine Arts Center, if rain)

Reception                          Academy Front Lawn (after graduation)

***Attendance at Baccalaureate, Recognition Assembly, and Graduation is required of all students.

 

Boarding students may leave as soon as the graduation is over on May 26, about 11:30 a.m.  The dorms will close and all students should have moved out by 4:00 p.m. If this schedule presents a problem for you, please discuss it with Miss Rogers prior to the end of school.

Also, Day Students should have lockers cleaned out and all personal belongings removed from the school by 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26.

Saber Spirit!

Salem Sisters Sportswear will be back next week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday for one final chance to pick up your Salem gear for the summer! New items include rain jackets, gold t-shirts and Mint Brand seersucker totes, cosmetic bags, hanging bags and lunch boxes (these make great graduation gifts too!) And be sure to pick up your CamelBak water bottles to keep hydrated this summer! Come see us–we will be in the Rec Room!

Spring Choral Concert

Please join us for our Spring Choral Concert on Friday, May 25th at 8 pm in Hanes Auditorium! All are welcome to this FREE performance!

Athletics Update

The Salem Sabers concluded their outdoor track season last weekend at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, NC. Ten amazing young women went and competed their hearts out on Friday and Saturday, May 18-19th; Amira Rady, Brier Evans, Favor Idika, Jasmine Robinson, Kate Dossel, Lucy Calaway, Miracle Etim-Andy, Monica Conley, Praise Idika, and Tochi Okoli.

 

On Friday, Praise Idika won the high jump with a jump of 5’2”, and her sister, Favor Idika, placed second with a jump of 5 feet. Kate Dossel placed 7th with a jump of 4’10”. Tochi Okoli earned a 3rdplace finish and personal record in the Discus with a throw of 105’6”, and Miracle Etimandy placed fifth in the same event with a throw of 96’1”

 

On Saturday morning, Tochi placed 7th in the shot put, throwing 30’5.75”

 

With a total of 31 points, the Sabers placed 9th overall in the 3A State Championships.

 

The season was riddled with injuries, but through perseverance, teamwork, and discipline, the Sabers found a way to win their Conference Championships and placing in the top ten schools in the state. Many congratulations to them on another great season!
