Week of May 04, 2018

From Interim Head of School, Miss T

Dear All,

Greetings to all of you on this glorious May day! We have now entered our final month of school and the excitement is mounting, both for the end of the year activities, summer, and also for the coming school year. Speaking of next year, it was our great pleasure to have our new Head of School, Carol Killebrew, on campus this past weekend for Alumnae Day. She talked with students, faculty, and alums. While here, she filmed a video message for our community and it is the concluding section of my message this week.

My best to all of you for a wonderful May!

Take care,

Mary Lorick Thompson

Interim Head of School

Athletics Update

Varsity Soccer
The soccer teams season came to a close on Tuesday as they played Caldwell Academy in the first round of the TAC Conference Tournament. The Sabers worked hard for the entire eighty minutes, with Abigail Wucherer scoring in the 76th minute to get Salem on the scoreboard. Unfortunately, the team was facing the second place team in the conference and were unable to keep them from scoring. The coaches are extremely proud of this team and the hard work and effort that every member gave throughout the season. Best of luck to the seniors!
Varsity Track and Field

The Lady Saber track and field team competed in their 6th meet of the season at American Hebrew Academy on April 26th.  The entire team performed very well and were only six points shy of capturing their second season team victory.  Tochi Okoli shattered the Salem Academy school record with her throw of 99’07 in the discus.
