Abigail Wucherer, NC State Park Scholar Recipient

Abigail Wucherer, daughter of Talia and Rick Wucherer, from Belmont, North Carolina has been awarded NC State’s Park Scholarship for the Class of 2023. Selection as a Park Scholars is based on outstanding accomplishments and potential in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

The Park Scholarship provides a four-year scholarship valued at up to $110,000 in-state and up to $200,000 out-of-state, including tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, travel, and personal expenses. Also included are grants to fund professional and personal enrichment experiences, such as research projects, service activities, and conferences in the United States and abroad.

Abigail is president of House Council, president of Key Club, soccer and swim team captain, and a captain on the robotics team. She also dedicates her time to the special needs community through her involvement with the Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program by fundraising with Cycle to the Sea for the past nine years, as well as with the Webb Street School by working in the aquaponics system. Abigail plans to major in mechanical engineering.
