Academy Students Win Scholastic Art Awards
Salem Academy students were once again honored for their artistic talents by the Scholastic Art Awards. Kiersten Washle received the Gold Key award for her drawing, “To Illuminate a Lamp,” Laura Zhang and Grayson Sloan won Silver Key awards–Zhang for the photograph, “On the Way Home” and Sloan for the drawing, “Steeple.” Zhang, along with Alli Lawson, also picked up honorable mentions for the sketch “Untitled” (Zhang) and a brush marker drawing (Lawson).
The students were chosen out of hundreds of entries from the Southeast region.
