Lorie Howard

Known fondly as “Coach,” Lorie Howard came to Salem Academy by way of Westchester Academy where she was named “Coach of the Year.” She will begin her 29th year at Salem this fall, coaching tennis, basketball, and soccer, as well as teaching physical education. Miss Howard started the All-Sports Camp at the Philadelphia Cricket Club in Philadelphia, PA., and the Salem Sports Camp for Kids in Winston-Salem, now in its 12th year. She is known around school for her creative student nicknames, her “peace” salute, and her Saber spirit (“Salem pride, you know!”). She has traveled on many of the Salem trips (England, France, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Hawai’i). Miss Howard is an avid photographer and scrap booker, as well as an expert on the Amish. She is passionate about tennis and also plays piano.
