In the Spirit of Community
Summer camps are one of the many ways Salem students engage with the local community.
All-Girls Camps: STEAM and Robotics & Coding
Salem students work as counselors, serving alongside their Academy teachers. The campers, K-8 girls from the local community, explore the fundamentals of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math in creative, age-appropriate activities.
STEAM Camp inspires girls in grades K-5 with hands-on activities, such as:
- Introduction to Coding
- Robot Demos
- Electric Circuits
- Print Making
- Data Collection
- Lego Building Challenges
- Math & Mysteries
- Story Science, & more
The Robotics and Coding Camp introduces girls in grades 6-8 to the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Program.

A Coed Summer Sports Camp for Kids
Four 1-week sessions in June & July 2020; Dates pending
Half-Day Junior Sports Camp
Ages 4-6/8:30 am-1:00 pm
Our carefully planned activities keep the learning fun, but not exhausting. High-energy exercises are integrated with less physical ones. Campers take swimming lessons as well as swim recreationally. The program uses small equipment to develop hand-eye coordination, stamina, strength, balance, and ball-handling skills. Cooperation and team spirit are emphasized to all campers as our objective is to have fun rather than to compete.
Half-Day Senior Sports Camp
Ages 7-11/8:30 am-1:00 pm
Campers work with staff to learn the fundamentals of individual (swimming, tennis, golf, archery) and team sports (basketball, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball). Rules, strategies, skills, and competitive awareness are emphasized.
