Salem Academy fathers and male guardians are invited to join an ongoing informal discussion about issues impacting our daughters. Approximately every month a group of Academy dads will get together to compare notes and discuss the varying issues that come about when raising teenage daughters. It's always an informal conversation, and all fathers of Salem Academy students are welcome to attend! For fathers who are unable to participate, notes from these conversations will be made available.

Minutes from September Meeting
I thought we had a great crowd. We had a chance to introduce ourselves, gave some history to how this group was formed several years ago, and then turned it over to our new Head of School, Lisa Pence. It was great for her to share about the impact her dad had on her life, her first impressions about how amazing Salem Academy is, and hopes she has for not only this group, but the school as a whole.
One idea she shared was to continue to build on the welcoming community that has been created. For those of us who are local, to look for ways to share that community with other parents when they visit. The cocktail hour at Parent’s Weekend is a perfect place. If you are able, please RSVP and plan to attend.
Other ideas of places we can engage: Salem Days when prospective families visit, assisting with set teardowns after performances, and cookouts.
Of course, the pancake breakfast on the Saturday during exams will continue!
For future breakfast meetings, we’ll bring in different staff and faculty who can share what they do, what they see on a daily basis and how we can be better equipped to support our girls.
