Salem Academy shares Health Services with nearby Salem College. The Health Services department
is there to help care for students in times of illness, provide them with
health information on a number of issues and make referrals to off-site
specialists. These are free services.
There is also a weekly physician
clinic; please call extension 2713 (721-2713) for day/time of the clinic.
We encourage Academy students to become
familiar with the Student Health Services Center before they need it.
Also, they are urged to please inform the staff there of any chronic conditions so
that the staff may be supportive.
All students are strongly encouraged
to have health insurance either privately or purchased through the Academy and College.
While basic services are free, fees for and transportation to off-site specialist visits are the student's responsibility. In the event of an emergency the student will be transported
by EMS.

have a pharmacy or a lab. The staff can dispense over-the-counter medication
to students at no cost. Prescription medications must be obtained at
a local pharmacy.
Some diagnostic testing (Strep-A,
