Personal Recommendation
Secondary School Admission Test Scores (SSAT) Candidates for admission are asked to take the Secondary
School Admission Test (SSAT) during the year prior to entrance to Salem
Academy. This test is administered by the Secondary School Admission Test Board
on specific dates throughout the school year in test centers here and abroad.
Please visit the SSAT website for more information and online
registration.
We advise taking the SSAT in
October, November, December, or January. An SSAT bulletin, which contains
information about test deadlines and dates and registration procedures, is
available in the fall from the Admissions Office. A copy of this bulletin will
be sent to a prospective student upon receipt of her application. Candidates
should indicate that their SSAT scores be reported to Salem Academy. The school
code is 7048. Eleventh and twelfth grade applicants may be evaluated on the
basis of the PSAT or SAT scores.
Interview A personal interview is a requirement for admission to Salem
Academy. Special visiting days for interviews and tours of the school are
available throughout the year. For a schedule, click here. Other appointments may be
arranged by contacting the Office of Admissions at 336/721-2643 or toll free at
1-877-407-2536. Candidates and their parents are given a tour of the campus by
a student guide and meet with a member of the Admissions staff. Visits usually
last about one to two hours.
Parent Form (Optional) In order to better serve each student and her family, we ask
that a parent complete this form and return it to us.
